If you visit San Jose, then be sure to visit the San Jose Museum of Art. It’s a great place to see some historic pieces from different artists and it’s free! You’ll find a lot of exhibits by West Coast artists that are interesting and engaging. The San Jose Museum of Art features a solid collection of various art pieces from artists such as Dale Chuhuly, Deborah Butterfield, Joan Brown, Robert Arneson, Richard Diebenkorn, Milton Avery, Jim Dine, and Frederick Spatt.

2. Ride the Giant Dipper at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk
A quick visit to the Sta Cruz Beach Boardwalk makes for a great day trip for families, friends, and even couples. One of its attractions is the Giant Dipper, which took 47 days to build and opened on May 17, 1924, at a cost of $50,000. (As of this writing, rides, indoor arcades, and miniature golf remain closed due to COVID‑19 restrictions.)

3. Visit the Winchester Mystery House
Winchester Mystery House is one of the most popular tourist attractions in California. The house was built by Sarah Winchester, who lost her husband and child during childbirth. She believed that if she kept building rooms onto her home, it would keep the evil spirits away.
When Sarah Winchester died, the work on the house finally stopped, ending with a bizarre structure with 40 bedrooms, 2 ballrooms, and over 10,000 individual panes of glass. Now, the Winchester Mystery House is regarded as one of America’s most haunted houses.
4. Explore Santana Row
Santana Row has the perfect balance of art and commerce, all nestled in this beautiful oasis. Having grown from a blank canvas to an eclectic mixed-use development south of Westfield Valley Fair mall with trees, fountains, musicians for your leisurely enjoyment – Santana Row is truly Silicon Valley’s version of “old meets new.”
