For Filipinos, having samgyupsal or Korean barbecue is a good way to celebrate any important occasion with friends and family. But for me, samgyupsal is reason alone to celebrate!
Last week, I had a great time at Premier the Samgyupsal (San Juan) with new friends from the blogging community. It was my first time at any Premier the Samgyupsal branch, and I enjoyed it immensely.
I find the place very inviting and perfect for bonding sessions with friends and family.
Service and Facilities
The staff were very attentive and responsive to our requests. They were ready to assist us in operating the electric grill, which I don’t often experience in other restaurants.
As for the place, it’s clean, neat, and well-maintained. The same goes for their restroom. 😉 And oh, they have electric sockets you can use to charge your phone. They don’t have Wi-Fi though — who needs that when you’re having a great time with friends and delicious food anyway?
Food Selection
I must admit that I’m not a fan of meat, especially pork. I try to limit my meat intake for health reasons (and because I’m trying to reduce my carbon footprint).
But I enjoyed dining here because of the wide variety of side dishes that they have to offer. You’ll have 15 dishes to choose from so it’s basically a feast haha. They have sweet potato, cheese dip, anchovies, pickled radish, and a whole lot more to delight your taste buds.
I tried the haemul sundubu jjigae (seafood and soft tofu stew, P380), which was a spicy stew with an anchovy broth for a base, but it was too thin and un-spicy for me.
There’s also a wide selection of imported beers and flavored soju that you can choose from. I tried Sapporo and Heineken because I know I’ll get a bit woozy if I drink soju haha.
If you’re the kind of person who always leaves room for dessert, you’ll be delighted that they offer Melona and Samanco ice creams!
Price Range
While it’s within the price range of most samgyupsal places, the taste of the food and the variety prove that you can get more value here. For P500, you can already have a hearty meal. Here’s a copy of their menu:
Verdict
I highly recommend it! The price is reasonable and the food choices are better than other places.
